BIDDING AULD LANG SYNE...

...with new project plans.  Don't you just love visiting Vogue Pattern's website? - I do!  Of all the Big 4 it's classy, and intriguing, and always yields excitement and surprise (IMHO).  There is always something to go ahhhhh about when you click on that site.   I am so very glad that I finally got over the fear of using Vogue Patterns!   For my next project I'll be using this pattern to make a midi length cape for my Mother

using this Taupe Wool and this bright Silky Print as lining.

What will be your first project for 2017???

  1. That lining will go beautifully with the taupe wool. This cape is going to be gorgeous. I am hoping my first project in 2017 will be a pair of jeans...we shall see!

  3. Happy New Year, Faye! I love Vogue patterns, too, but my first 2017 project will be a basic fitted dress made with an OOP Butterick pattern.

  6. That's a great fabric combination! Your mom will love it! I actually bought myself 4 new dresses really cheap from China; I've made the 2 sweater dresses fit right, and they're so snuggly! The other 2 will wait for a bolt of energy, maybe later today or tomorrow. And I have plans for that red satin dress which didn't make it to the cutting table for Christmas, to maybe get done for my daughter's bridal shower in February.

  8. Nice Ms. Faye! I love that jazzy lining too! I'm currently working on my first project of the year… It's going to be a semi formal dinner dress for and upcoming event. Good luck with your mom's coat and I can't wait to see the finished results (I know your mom is happy you're working on something for her too, LOL!)

I cut out a new project yesterday so my first project of 2017 will be a knit vest. Simple but cute and functional :)

    1. I actually have a problem buying repeat patterns although I try very hard to keep my pattern list updated. I already had 2 of the same patterns and then a friend gave me some patterns and this pattern was included so now I have 3. I do hope that the cape comes out really good because it is a gift for my Mother. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

  12. Happy New Year! I feel the same way about Vogue Patterns, and I totally had a fear of them for a long time. I remember one year having a specific goal "make something with a Vogue pattern." And then I did, and it was not nearly as intimidating as I thought. The things you learn! Your Mom's cape looks like it will have a super fun lining! My first project of the new year are the two dresses for my Day and Night Dress Challenge I'm hosting. The day dress is a PR Winter Street dress with added embroidery and a sleeve hack involving zippers, and my night look is a plain black Jalie Bella Dress that I'm adding a lace overlay skirt and lace bolero to.
